Final words

Personally I believe the blog is a good idea to share our thoughts and feelings about our in class activities. It helps us get an insight of the opinions of students we don't get a chance to interact with in class. But the thing that annoyed me the most is finding other student's blogs. I wish there was links we could just click on instead of having to copy and paste a link every time I needed to respond to a blog. Maybe using the discussion board on blackboard would have been better for this type of online interaction. My psychology class two semesters ago used the discussions board and it worked very well.

Management

so many classes, so many tests
which could cause a load of stress
so many things to do
but not enough time
right now i need to write a poem that ryhmes
time management is what i need
there is too many chapters in the management text that i need to read
classes are coming to an end, I don't know what to say
I just hope that I learned something I will use someday

DISC Results

My test results show that I am a I high D type manager. I read through the description and I found some characteristics that do apply to me and some that don't. It is true that I am very competitive and like to convince others to make the same decisions I do, but i don't think the point that states that I tend to overlook details is true. I do not wish to be some other type because I believe I am who I am and that is not going change. I think this managements types also applies to interactions among peers/friends. In class discussions some people tend to be more dominant and even with friends, there are always some that could attract more attention than others.

Future Goals

1) Graduate
2) Obtain a full time job
3) Take the CPA

Right now I am planning out the courses I should take in the future semesters to ensure that I will graduate on time. I am also working and searching for internships to build up my resume to give myself a competitive edge in the future. And lastly, I do plan on taking the CPA and therefore are watching my accounting grades the making sure I fulfill all the requirements to take the exam.

Decisions Decisions

I chose compromise because I believe that everybody in the class should have the opportunity to benefit from whatever the proposal might be. The students with bad grades should have a chance to raise their grade but should not "over benefit" because it will be unfair for students with good grades. I would say that the best method would have been collaborating because it was absolutely chaotic when everyone tried to speak at once. If we broke up into small groups, every one's voice would be heard. Much better than the screaming that happened in class.

Egg Planning

My team followed through the first step in the planning process. We knew what we had to do and how much time we have to do it. The second step in the process we only did half of it. We only identified our resources and didn't identify the strengthens and weaknesses of our group members. Steps 3, 4, and 5 was follow through by my group. We went over multiple plans before ultimately deciding on the best one and we did allocate the job of dropping the egg to the the shortest person in our group. Overall our planning was not successful because we failed the task. I think if we spent more time on the figuring out the goal, my group would have been much more successful.

Management Problem

Right now I have a major problem managing my time between work and school and my friends. My part time job sometimes require me to be working even though I am not at the office. For example in the last month I was suppose to meet my friend for lunch on a weekend but during that time the office needed some new things. I ended up going shopping on my weekends with my boss for work things for two weeks in a row and I had to postpone my lunch with friend for a month. Also there are times I get so caught up in office work that I put my school work aside and when the assignments are due I will be stressing out a lot. I just feel that I don't have enough time for everything in my life anymore.
